I'm Carlos Melendez, I've been taking pictures all my life. I used to beg my dad to let me borrow his camera more than I used to ask for the car keys, but I wasn't much into the 'art form' portion of it until about a few years ago when I saw a few Wedding photographer portfolios and was amazed at how beautiful and expressive as some of the images felt and got inspired to pick up my camera and start reading books and going through roll after roll of film (Yes... I started on film) practicing technique and understanding how to make expressive images. Like most, I begun working on expression through still life and landscapes. I loved every day of it but it wasn’t until the day I started photographing people that it truly became a passion. From stage work to portraits I started working on more conceptual projects, searching for my own edge, my own look, refining it continuously. I also currently manage my print gallery here to sell some abstracts, stills, and a few people images. I'm also expanding my business to include wedding or portrait photography to the general public rather than trying to remain exclusive to the fashion world. So that's the nutshell version of the photographic journey so far. I hope you enjoy the journey and support the arts.
